The Sous Chef reports to The Gibson’s Head Chef and is responsible for supporting the kitchen team. You will have a well-rounded understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients and styles of cookery. You will have a background of managing a small but busy team where, you have displayed leadership and creativity.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your previous experience to the test.

A few of your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in all food preparation and collaborates with the Head Chef
Assisting in the design of food specials, assist with menu planning, daily food specials and offers
Producing high quality grills, plated meals, including design and taste
Ensuring that all food is to a safe, quality standard at all times

What we are looking for:

Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under own direction
Delivers on the needs of the customer with the intention to exceed their expectations
Focuses on needs of The Gibson and target customers
Adapts to the Team and assists in building a positive Team spirit

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Possession of relevant trade qualification
At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within commercial catering with responsibility for staff supervision
Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills

You will be an experienced Sous Chef with passion for delivering an exceptional experience and will have a proven track record in the industry. You will be able to work under pressure, managing timelines, making decisions whilst remaining calm at all times.
