Forbes Hospitality is looking for an enthusiastic Line Cook to add to our current team.  All applicants must be able to take direction well, work well with others, have strong kitchen skills, and have formal training in the culinary arts profession.  All applicants must pass a background check. 
 
Weekends and evenings are a must for this position, with a typical schedule ranging from Wednesday to Sunday, but with flexibility based on our events schedule.
 
Previous experience in a high-volume banquet setting is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of cooking skills, knife handling, and safety
  • Ability to take direction from the Sous Chefs and Executive Chef
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the staff
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Set up stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Ability to work with speed and efficiency
  • Fortitude to work in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Completion of vocational school or a two-year associate degree
  • At least one year of cooking experience
  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organization and active listening skills
  • The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
  • Exceptional time management skills
