We are opening our first single largest investment hotel which will be a flagship for our evolving brand, and we have a rare opportunity for a seasoned Junior Sous Chef to join us and be part of creating our new future in a stunning South Coast seafront location, only a stone’s throw from Brighton.

We are creating our new boutique hotel brand that does things differently: inviting our guests to explore the surrounding neighbourhood, discovering the stories of its people, savouring its food and flavours and taking in every delightful detail.

Having just gone under an extensive refurbishment we have fitted the White Horses with a brand new induction kitchen aiming to serve some of the finest fresh food on the south coast. Lead by our new head chef, we are looking to create a destination for lovers of fresh sea food, pizzas and everything in between. Also as a growing company with another 38 sites in the pipeline we will be a development site for our new hotels, but also give you a pathway for personal development should you so wish.

As a Junior Sous Chef, your culinary technique, creativity, and leadership, will drive the kitchen to success. Whilst supporting the senior kitchen team, you’ll inspire and mentor the wider team to ensure every guest enjoys an extraordinary dining experience. 

Job Description

As a Junior Sous Chef, you will:

  • Demonstrate exemplary culinary skills and oversee food preparation to ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard and meet presentation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to train, motivate and maintain a harmonious environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.
  • Display full knowledge, implementation and control of restaurant Heath and Safety to guarantee the safety of your team and guests.
  • Work autonomously whilst delegating responsibilities effectively and monitoring performance.

What you’ll bring to the kitchen:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment working effectively with a diverse team to succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, to thrive under pressure and in demanding circumstances.
  • Confidence in managing stock and order processes, ensuring cost control and maintaining budgets.
  • A willingness to learn and develop, participating in regular training sessions.
