A line cook may have several responsibilities in the kitchen, all of which have an important role in the quality of the final product. They typically work directly under the head and sous chefs, completing any tasks asked of them. Their duties may include sauteing, frying, dicing, blending and boiling food.  Ensure all food is prepared fresh and is of the highest quality, while strictly adhering to all recipes and methods

Flexible availability.

Requires excellent communication skills. Knowledge of kitchen terminology required.

Documented cooking experience with heavy emphasis on experience in a high quality culinary environment. Culinary education applies to experience.

Formal culinary training diploma, apprenticeship papers, or equivalent experience preferred.

Knowledge of products, uses and availability.

Remain current with products and industry trends. 

Basic mathematical capability including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Current food safety certification.
